Home remedy for hair fall

The best way to treat the hairfall,brown hair , intitial stage of baldness is by using the home made herbal oil.
 No matter what your hair type is, check out the following simple do's for a healthier, happier and more manageable hair.
Apply the following home made herbal oil daily night before going to bed and you can see the best result in just couple of weeks.
Ingredients :

  • Amla - 50 gms
  • curry leaves - 50 gms
  • shallots juice extract - 50 ml
  • Aloe juice extract with gel -100 ml
  • beattle leaves juice extract - 50 ml
  • pepper - 25 gms
  • mehandhi leaves - 25 gms
  • coconut oil -  1 lit
Method:
Grind the ingredients excet coconut oil, mix with the coconut oil and heat it on low to medium flame for about 45 min with occassional stirring. 
Once ready, allow it to cool, strain it and store in clean dry container. 
Make sure you use it every night by applying it with a massaging motion. Yet you have to be careful about the following measures for a better result


  1. Wash your hair two to three times a week, max.
  2.  Avoid hot showers and shampoo your scalp, not your ends
  3. Massage your scalp to encourage circulation
  4.  There's a technique to good hair washing and overdoing things on the product front will do more harm than good.
  5.  Healthy, beautiful, shiny hair starts in the shower so make sure to use the right shampoo and conditioner for your hair type and level of damage.

நல்ல மிளகு 20 கிராம்
மேலே குறிப்பிட்ட பொருட்களுடன் ஒரு லிட்டர் சுத்தமான தேங்காய் எண்ணையில் சேர்த்து காய்ச்சி தேய்த்து வந்தால் செம்பட்டை முடி மற்றும் நரை முடி கருப்பாகும்.
முடி உதிர்தல் நிற்கும்.
புழுவெட்டில் முடிவளரும்.
கண்பார்வை தெளிவுபடும்.
தலைவலி குணமாகும்.
உடல்சூடு, மூக்கடைப்பு, கப வியாதிகள், இழுப்பு, இருமல் கட்டுப்படும்.
வழுக்கை தலையிலும் முடி வளரும்

Tender coconut Sweet Relish Drink - Paayaasam

Summer Sun is bright and strong in every summer and already we are drinking lots of butter milk, tender coconut and fruit juices.  Very often we tend to drink some refreshing and relishing drink which is "soft" to stomach :) Already we quench ourselves with lassi , butter milk , melon drink and so on. But this time my mom surprised me with this easiest & quickest yet very healthy drink on the right time. It’s so easy to make and a lovely way to chill out in this heat .
Tender coconut Sweet Relish Drink -  Paayaasam 
Ingredients :
Tender coconut - 2 big sized
Condensed milk - 1/4th a tin
Pistachios & cashews (Optional) - 1 tablespoon sliced & fried in ghee
Cardamons (Optional ) - 2 or 3 pcs 
Method : 
  • Cut open the tender coconut and collect water in a container 

  • Scrap the tender coconut into the same container itself

  • Add condensed milk to this water

  •  Add the fried nuts and cardamons.
  • Serve chill after refrigerating for an hour.

How to preserve corriander leaves

I have been suffering a lot to store my coriander leaves and one day my surfing helped me a lot to get an idea that a Green house effect for this herb helps to preserve. So i tried out these techniques and amazingly it worked out :) I was able to store them without wilting or spoiling for more than a couple of weeks.
So i thought i can share with you all.
Once bought from store and back home from your shopping , snip off the roots of the coriander .



Fill a jar half way with water and place the cut ends of the herb in it 

You can leave this as such in room temperature if you are planning to consume the herb within a couple of days . But if you need to store for many days then , prefer covering the fresh leaves with a plastic bag loosely and store it fridge.

You can change the water every 2 days once or after you notice the colour change in water.

Home Made paneer like the branded ones

Hi everybody,
Happy to meet you in this New year 2014...Quite a long time i was busy in other schedules which kept me postponing my writings here.
And this time i would like to share homemade cottage cheese as like the branded ones :)

Ingredients Required :

Milk - 3 lit
Sour curd - 3 tspn

Method :
  • Boil milk in a heavy pan. When it reaches its boiling point , simmer the stove .
  • Add the curd to the milk 
  • Now you can see the milk solids get coagulated and whey water being formed
  • Now switch off the stove and filter them using a muslin cloth 
  • Squeeze them to remove excess water
  • Let them cool for 20 min 
  • Now grind them in a mixie . This makes the cottage cheese / paneer soft
  • Remove from mixie and then knead the paneer to soft textured dough  and press store it in a square container.
 
  • Refrigerate for 20 min before use 

  • Cut to desired shapes and use
  • Its always good to consume paneer on same day or in couple of days

3D Egg less Barbie doll cake

Hurrah ,Applaud...I have baked an eggless cake .To be frank all these years i thought, assumed and presumed that i cannot bake bc baking is not so easy or i can do tastily or baking is tough . But my 1st daughter who baked a chocolate brownie for her Father's day with a very very little assistance of mine (in handling the OTG oven  alone  hahahaa) , gave me a courage, confidence and "why not me " thought to bake a cake for their bday . So i should really thank my elder daughter for giving me such an opportunity. Heres the snap of her Father's day cake . She was 10 years when she baked this cake a year before now. So thought of sharing the step by step making of 3D barbie cake.
Here you go. Uploading the 3D barbie cake step by step procedure.
  1. First , i have baked sponge cakes and chocolate cakes of required sizes.`
  2. One cake is of bowl shaped - for the upper hip part of the doll.
  3. layer each cakes after applying the butter cream generously.
  4. Pipe frosting cream for barbie doll's top's in desired design.
  • I piped fresh cream in strips with generous gap , then sprinkled red sparkling sugar - home made 
  • Dust down so that excess sparklers drop
  • Then again piped the plain fresh cream so that red and white strips follow alternatively.
    5.  Insert this doll on top of bowl shaped cake
    6.  Now apply frosting generously all over the cake
    7.  Start piping fresh cream in the required design
    8. Decorate as required - here i have done with simple heart shaped sugar      candy & silver color sugar balls ( both are store bought)

Done.

Aval Semiya Adai

When noodles was not famous among indians and very particularly when indian kids were not known of noodles , Noodle company was not able to intrude deeply into indian market. They did it by a very good marketing technique ....Yes , they reciprocated the screamings of indian mothers to cook fast. They started advertising that noodle can be cooked in "2 Minutes " and there they are. It slowly caught homemakers attention and now almost everyone are behind it.

But our traditional food is more easier than that but added fact is, it is more healthier and delicious too. Aval semiya adai can be cooked in minutes -in short the time required for the tawa to get heated + 2 min. I was impressed much of the taste and now a days we stick to this snack cum tiffin on rainy or cloudy days.

Ingredients:

Aval - 1 small cup
Semolina / Semiya - 2 cups 
onion shopped - 1/2 cup
Grated ginger - 1 tspn
curry leaves - chopped 2 tspn
coriander leaves - chopped 2 tspn
yogurt / curd - 3 table spoon
Salt - to taste
Green chilli - 2 chopped

Method:
1. Soak aval in water until all other ingredients are mixed.


2. Crush the semiya and add chopped onion coriander  , ginger , curd , green chilli and curd.








3. Drain the water in aval and add the aval to semiya and mix well.

4.Keep tawa on stove and make a ball on the semiya aval mix and spread over the tawa .

5. Spray few drops of oil ,

6. Turn the adai upside down and remove.

7. Serve hot and toasted along with Spicy mouth watery chilli chutney,

Polenta - Healthy Corn Meal

Polenta is originally an Italian dish and is one of the staple foods of Italians. This has helped me giving a rescue in hitting my head against searching a healthy as well as tasty interesting menu. It is a wonderful dish that goes with breakfast, lunch and dinner entrees and it can be served hot or cold, soft or hard making it one the most versatile foods.
Polenta is coarsely or finely ground yellow or white corn meal. It is cooked by boiling to a paste in water or a liquid such as soup stock , and may be eaten with other ingredients. After boiling, it may be baked, fried or grilled; leftover polenta is often used this way. As is common with many foods, the term may refer to the ingredient or a cooked dish made with it (as with rice, beans, etc.).
Even though corn is one of the healthiest, low calorie foods – it’s a good idea to rotate and mix polenta with other vegetables. Note: today’s corn is almost entirely genetically modified – so polenta MUST come from an organic source or (potentially) suffer the health consequences.

The flavoring you use will determine how the polenta will be used at the dinner table. You can try some herbs and spices like basil leaves, corriander or parsley leaves , garlic buds and chilies .

Ingredients:
Corn - 1 cup measure
Water - 3 1/2 cups measure
Salt - 1 tspn



Optional :


Chili flakes - 1 1/2 tspn
Course black pepper powder - 1/2 tspn
Cream cheese - 1 tspn
Butter - 2 tspn
Garlic buds - 2
Red chilies - 2




 Method:

  1. Measure 3 cups of water for 1 cup of corn and keep on stove.


2. When the water starts boiling , mix 1/2 cup of water to 1 cup of corn powder and this to boiling water.


3. Keep stirring the mixture until it gets little thick consistency.Add salt to taste and keep it closed with lid until it is cooked.



4. Once cooked , change it to another container.

5. Cover this container and keep refrigerated for 4 - 5 hours before using.


After few hours of refrigeration m you can make wonderful dishes with this like polenta fritters, Baked polenta, Pancakes etc..

Additions to the above recipe is add all the optional ingredients while adding salt to add spices and flavors, along with fried garlic buds with red chilies
An irresistible combination and classic Mediterranean dish consists of chickpeas, roasted eggplant, zucchini, red and yellow peppers, on sliced polenta topped off with mozzarella cheese plus your favorite tomato sauce over the baked polenta or pancakes will serve a full healthy meal.
